Stock and Mutual Funds

Support Hillel and earn financial benefits by making a gift of securities. Easily and quickly send us a stock certificate or electronically transfer stocks. 
Making a gift of stocks, bonds or mutual funds to Hillel is easy and has special tax benefits. When contributing appreciated securities held for more than one year:

  • Hillel receives a gift equal to the market value of the securities.

  • You can take a charitable tax deduction equal to the market value of the securities.

  • You avoid paying any capital gains tax.

  • You remove the value of the securities from your taxable estate.

Planned Giving/Legacy Gifts

The most common planned gift vehicles include:

  • Charitable Bequests are easily made through your will, trust or estate plan and don't cost you anything during your lifetime. 

  • Charitable Gift Annuities (CGAs) provide you or your family quarterly, tax-free income, plus your estate benefits from reduced probate and estate taxes.

  • Charitable Lead Trusts are a tax efficient way to transfer wealth, where Hillel International is the holding trust for a fixed number of years, after which the assets revert back to your family member. 

  • Charitable Remainder Trusts will distribute assets first to your beneficiaries and then to Hillel International.

Matching Gifts

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift!

Please check with your company to see if it offers a matching gift program that will match your gift to Tanger Hillel. We will work with you and your company to facilitate this gift.
