Congregation Brith Shalom: Bellaire, TX (Suburb of Houston)

Our synagogue and Religious School have been in a growth phase for a number of years (580 families, 180 students) and we are searching for an organized and passionate individual to join its educational team. The person in this position will handle the day-to-day running of the Religious School (grades PreK-7), serve as Youth Advisor for our informal youth groups (USY, Kadima and Machar), head up our expanding young family programming, organize and lead Shabbat family service/programming and High Holiday Youth services/programming. 

 We are looking for an organized multi-tasker who is driven to deeply touch the lives of students and families in traditional and novel ways. Knowledge of and passion for Conservative Jewish living is key.


  • Administrative responsibilities for the Religious School, Young Family Programming and Youth Groups
  • Development, planning and implementation of programs for the Religious School, Young Families and Youth Group.
  • Planning and leading Shabbat Youth Services
  • Organizing, planning and implementation of Youth Programming for the High Holidays. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents and the congregation.


  • Masters or Bachelors in Judaic Studies or Jewish Education

  • Commitment to and passion for Conservative Jewish life
  • Driven to Jewishly influence young Jewish lives
  • Team Player
  • Superb communications skills 

  • Excellent Computer and administrative skills
